Who am I?

A writer in the first draft of life.

Monday, May 9

Today was a great day! I counted calories, and it went perfectly. I only wish it didn’t take so long to calculate! My goal is to get good at eyeballing proportions and knowing calories by Fall (when I’ll have classes again) so I can eat well much faster.

I didn’t start that garden yet, it keeps getting pushed to the back burner… but I did some mental health cleaning – by which I mean getting stuff done so my brain can stop scrambling in the chaos that is my life ;o)

Maybe the veggie garden will begin tomorrow… Any suggestions?

As for working out today – I am doing Bob’s DVD right after this post. I am super pumped to workout in my *hem hem* newly cleaned room.

My big accomplishment for today was trying to eat 1500 calories without feeling deprived or hungry. I didn’t feel deprived, but I certainly felt hungry! On the bright side, I did manage to slip a Rita’s Italian Ice into my 1500 calories – WIN.

The plan for tomorrow is to go check out the Curves I just found in my town. Can you believe I’ve gone to school here for four years and I am just NOW discovering that there is a legitimate gym within walking distance?! Sheesh. I love working out at the gym on campus – it’s free, my trainer is there (and he definitely kicks my butt!) and it’s convenient. Unfortunately, since I’m not taking any summer classes… it costs too much.

Has anyone experimented with Curves before? I’m curious to see what it’s all about. The cool part is that I can sign up for a free weeklong trial to see if I like it. Also, my campus gym has free membership for previous Spring students until the first week of June. Between the two… I should be okay on gym time for a bit =D

Tomorrow my calories are 1800, so that should be a little easier! According to Jill, you’ve got to vary your daily intake to keep your metabolism revved!

Thanks for reading & keep up the awesome comments!!!

  1. In a class I had last semester, a group did a presentation on Curves. They said it was really cool, and she charges something like $55/semester or $90/semester. Can't remember exactly how much, but I know they said they really liked it, and everyone there is really supportive and friendly. I'd definitely say try it out, and I'd love to go with you. Let me know if that'd work out. =)
