Who am I?

A writer in the first draft of life.

Wednesday, May 11

I’m going to post at least twice today – since I didn’t yesterday. Speaking of Tuesday, what a bust! Monday night, after I published my proud blog post, I went over my calories with some chicken nuggets and rum. What a way to go down. Also, I ended up not working out.

Tuesday, I woke up feeling like a two-year-old. The only thought running through my head, as I contemplated going to the gym and made a mental note of my calories for the day: I DON’T WANNA! I hate waking up grumpy – seriously. It deflates your balloon before it even has a chance to make it to the sky.

So I did the only mature thing I could think of – I scaled back. I didn’t count calories, but I was aware of what I was eating. I was tired with my grumpy self too, so I didn’t work out. Again.

On the bright side, I had a meeting with my professor that went well – that cleared up some mental space for me to feel focused again. I found a thrift store in my quiet town that is delightfully organized and run by little old women who actually have a backroom to sit in & call it a “workshop” because they are fixing the things they will sell.

I brought my bike home from its post at the Infirmary… where it has sat, alone, for more than a week. I also got some very much needed sunshine, spent three hours with a great friend, planted my vegetable garden (40ish days till harvest – tomatoes, green beans, spinach, chives, basil, and parsley!!) and my roommates cooked dinner for me. Oh, and I checked out Curves (see my other post for more about the gym situation).

Today, I am determined. I had a long, sleepless night thanks to late night coffee, an addicting book, and my brain trying to work through the ideas I have for the rest of my life. No pressure! I am working out today – if NOTHING else. And meeting with my new landlord.

New Wednesday post tonight. Thanks for reading!!

  2. Today is Thursday. I went swimming today instead of going into the gym. I did 50 lengths of the pool. That's 2400 ft. Then I did some leg exercises in the pool before I got out.
Keep up the good work Amanda.
